I never claim to be a stylist, but every now and then I get excited when I create a good outfit : )
Here is Amanda with an outfit I "curated" for her, while she was walking the streets of new york!

Martha & Halloween

My dear friend Martha asks me to do her makeup for Halloween, and of course I said yes! She didn't have a specific idea in mind but when she arrived to my house wearing all black , I was inspired to do something with dark plums, greens, yellows ( her eyes are hazel!), and black cherry lipgloss.

For her face:
Started with primer on clean skin,
Mixed foundation to match her exactly- applied all over her face with a brush and sponge, even over lips!!
Applied a light pink/coral blush to compliment her skin tone and provide a sof t contrast to her harsh makeup colors

For her brows: I combs them up and filled them in with a color matching her dark brown hair.

For her eyes: I layered greens and yellows and applied a dark plum (Smashbox Cabernet) from the inner corners of her eyes, down the sides of her nose. This is a contouring trick but I was able to play on it for Halloween by using a noticeable color.

For her lips: I did a heart shape like the queen of hearts in "alice and wonderland." I made sure to use a lip brush to create the heart tops by following her cupid's bow on her top lip.

P.S. ( I need a professional camera, lol!)

So I ended up combining the eyes and face from my original two concepts. I also extended blue eyeshadow in a "shadow" effect under her eyes; I left out the inner- eye rim color because of this.

Here is the concept I created for a new shoot I did in collaboration with Dani from PhotoMedia Diaries.

We had the pleasure of focusing the shot around the false lashes and the model's shoes. It was a fun day of shooting in Central Park; equipped with on-lookers and warm weather.

Denise's Gaze

I love this photo of Denise photographed by Russell Beazell.

For her look , I did a smoky eye variation with pink cheeks and lips. This is a softer look, great for a Valentine's date or a spring/summer wedding. The smoky eye was done with varying purples with the concentration of color on the outer corner.

Fun with Toesies

I was bored the other day and decided to do both mine and Amanda's toe nails. I had nail glitter from way back and wanted to do and fun (but very messy) coating of glitter on my toe nails. (They don't chip as easy as finger nails). I used the base coat from creative nails called "sticky" ( best base coat ever!), and a silver glitter polish over that. Once the silver polish was applied, I then pressed down silver glitter onto my toe nails. I definitely recommend doing this over some newspaper. : ) Finish off with a clear top coat when the glitter has set for a minute.

For Amanda's, we did a zebra pattern that I learned from Kandee Johnson ( see favorite youtube links on the side -> ). We applied a base coat, two coats of white polish, and then our black "zig-zag" strips. For the strips you need to either purchase a thin nail brush or a black nail polish with a thin design brush tip. For the zebra effect, you just go back and forth from each side, creating short wiggly lines. It's best understood if you watch Kandee's video; but I totally recommend trying the look out.

Last week, I had to the chance to meet up with my good friend Odelle and ask her to give me tips on great eye looks. She did a demo on me using a Ben Nye and Urban Decay palette for my eyes, and a M.A.C. liquid bronzer on my skin. I love the vibrancy of the eye look and wanted to share the pics with everyone. I am so happy to announce that I was able to put together a small shoot to showcase my artistry skills. It couldn't have been done without the help of my awesome friends; Estefania Ramos, Denise Moreno, Ana Ellisse Moreno, & Russell Beazell.

The idea behind the shoot was to have a more dramatic, editorial look, and then a practical look. It was done in my mother's Fl home and we had a blast.

I love learning new ways to do different eye looks, how to contour your cheeks, or fun designs for your nails. I have posted several of my favorite websites that I frequently visit to be updated on everything. Here's a little synopsis of each:
Kandee Johnson is an amazing artist in Cali. Watch her first videos on a flawless face and other great basics for makeup.
MakeupGeek is one of my favorite makeup teachers. She has a whole series of video for different eye shapes; she's a great resource to learn from.
Julie713 has fabulous nail designs!!! OMG I love her creative ideas.
